Ryu Will Fall is a throw back to old school GoAnimating. There's no custom backgrounds or props and I've used speech balloons with no sound other than a music backing track. The basic pr emise is Sakura is in love with Ryu (of the Street Fighter Games) and she has her sights set on capturing his heart. Hence the 'Fall' part of the title is not meant to be literal. I must admit I'm in a bit of a slump as far as GoAnimate goes so I decided to try one of the badge challenges (Ryu's Monologue) just to animate something. The badge challenge has some fairly strict limitations. You can only use Ryu as a character and there is no mixing of themes. Fortunately there was a prop image of Sakura so I was able to use that rather than her actual animated character. The music track is the same music I used in my Escape animation . Koolmoves is professional flash animation software at a budget price and is a great alternative to Adobe's Flash Professional CS5 . At less than one twelfth of the price of Adobe's offering it's a great introduction for flash noobies to dip their toe into the water to see if it's for them without the pressure of a serious investment in software. It's also great for people like me who only need a fraction of the software's capabilities. The cost of CS5 is unjustifiable whilst the cost of Koolmoves is a good investment should you discover you want to do more at a later time. I bought Koolmoves back in February and I've now had some time to test it out. As I said I only needed a fraction of what this software can do so as a result I can only comment on what I've used. However if you want to program fully capable, flash web sites or make stand alone flash movies and cartoons then Koolmoves certainly appears to have everything you need. Me... I just wa...

GoAnimater, Cool34606 demonstrated that it is actually possible to create completely new characters on GoAnimate by using a series of still, prop images instead of animated flash characters. The character he came up with was Kung Fu Cat (pictured). I liked the character's design so much that I asked Cool if I could feature him in an animation of my very own. Having experimented with 'flip image' style animation in Sneep Watching I was interested if I could make Kung Fu Cat look cool using the same technique with all the various poses Cool had drawn for his character. A recurring theme through my GoAnimate Complaints Department animation series was Street Fighter's Ken complaining about the need to pay 400 GoBucks in order to fight the Street Fighter Character, Bison. This complaint is actually a common one from GoAnimate members (particularly younger ones who are unable to spend real money online) who feel you shouldn't have to pay for anything on the site. Well at least not the characters they really want. I've been wanting to do a real 'fight' animation for quite a while but the Street Fighter theme has never really inspired me. There are just too many Street Fighter, fight animations on GoAnimate. It's hard to come up with something original.
