Vtubers come to Moho with Showtime Playback Live. R eallusion's Cartoon Animator 5 has been something of a leader in using motion capture features to animate 2D characters quickly.  It particularly got a boost when Reallusion launched its Puppet Stage Live features , that combined motion capture performance with keyboard, pre-defined, animated sequence commands, making it a versatile animation studio for vtuber avatar users. Now, with Moho's new 14.5 free update release, which includes their all new Showtime Live Playback , Cartoon Animator has lost much of its edge, and point of difference to Moho specifically. Watch Atlas: The Animated Movie on YouTube . W hile I'm not averse to Superhero content I must admit, what really piqued my interest in Austin McConnell's first animated feature film, Atlas: The Animated Movie , is that it was made with Reallusion's iClone. More on that later. The full movie is available right now on Youtube (just click the links) and follows the journey of a somewhat ineffective nobody, Jim Randall, as he becomes the superhero nobody was asking for. I gave the movie my full attention by watching it on my home digital projector which is about a 71" screen.  Despite the technical aspects of the film, the character design, cg animation etc. being not even close to modern standards, the story is quite engaging, with interesting characters, and is very watchable. Cartoon Animator 5's Smooth Mode Face Setup. I t's taken some doing but I've finally finished rigging the front facing angle of my G3-360 Vector TET Avatar character for my 2D animated web series Resident Dragon . Smooth Mode Face Setup lets you map  face feature movements to the Face Key Detail Settings sliders for greater control.  S ince my previous post I have completely finished drawing the front facing angle of my TET Avatar in Inkscape , transferred all the sprites to a front facing human template in Affinity , and I am testing the rig so far in Cartoon Animator 5 . M any cartoonists, authors, short story writers, and other types of creators find themselves aspiring to make an animated cartoon web series because, although a challenging task, it's seen to be achievable by a team of one. You don't need a big studio, a killer pitch, or a big budget, (which would all be nice) you can just start making something yourself, in your spare time, on a shoe string budget. That's what this blog, going forward, will be focusing upon.
