If you're serious about animation or video and plan to record your own voice for narration or characters, sooner or later you're going to want to upgrade from those cheap, $12.00 gaming mics, that you can buy from most variety stores.

I'll admit I don't know what makes for a good microphone having nothing for comparison than the $12.00 cheapies - and I'm too lazy to actually visit a real audio/music equipment store to test equipment out. Which is why this is only a 'kind of' review.

The way I see it, almost any professional microphone is an improvement on what I've been using so it's hard to go wrong.



I did know that most serious microphones tend to connect to your computer via a USB cable so with that in mind I started Googling around for Professional USB mics.

What I finally settled on was an iSK CRU-1 USB Studio Condenser Microphone which I purchased through Swamp Industries as a pod casting package deal that included everything you see in the picture; including the stand and pop filter (that's the black circle thing you can see in front of the microphone).

The fully adjustable floor stand was a real selling point for me as I just don't have the room on my desk to place or attach microphone equipment.

The pop filter was a nice inclusion too.

As for the microphone its self there were no bad reviews for it on the Swamp webpage so I felt confident it was a good choice for my money. Total cost AU$114.99 + postage.

As far as microphones go it's pretty heavy. Definitely intended as a studio microphone and not one you'd want to hold in your hand for any length of time.

There's no software to install. It's plug and play and should work with whatever recording software you already using. If you have an iPad4 or later it's possible to plug this microphone directly into that if you have a camera connection kit.

I'm happy with the quality of the recorded audio this microphone achieves. I've compared it to the mics I've been using and it definitely is a considerable improvement.

If you are looking online for professional audio equipment I can recommend Swamp Industries. They're pricing is fairly reasonable, they have an extensive range of equipment and their regular courier service delivered this to my home within days (fastest online purchase I've ever made that wasn't a digital download and had to be shipped from another state in fact). Unfortunately I don't think they deliver outside of Australia but it may be worth asking them if they have something you can't source elsewhere.

    Bluetooth speakers themselves have enhanced a considerable measure throughout the years as far as sound quality and list of capabilities. Though already they experienced poor sound quality and surprisingly more dreadful battery life, the present Bluetooth speakers sound extraordinary, and regularly pack hours of battery life on a solitary charge.

Inochi2D - Free Open Source 2D VTuber Avatar Rigging and Puppeteering Software (Part 2 - Inochi2D Session)

In part one of my deep dive into the free VTuber software, Inochi2D , I focused mainly on Inochi2D Creator, which is used for rigging your character avatar in the correct file format for use with Inochi2D Session, the puppeteering part of the software. The two sides of the software are still very much in development and the documentation, particularly for Session, is very thin on the ground. To the point where I don't think I could even do a comprehensive tutorial because I'm not sure I'm even doing things right, and the software could change significantly in a single update. Review: Headshot Plugin for Reallusion's Character Creator 3

Headshot for CC3. Quite possibly the best 3D Avatar I've made of myself in any 3D application. Creating a realistic 3D human avatar is a whole lot easier with Reallusion's new Headshot Plugin for Character Creator 3. The plugin is an AI powered extension that can generate 3D digital humans from one photo. Which sounds like an amazing proposition but, in practice, if you're trying to achieve a specific likeness to an actual person, Headshot will give you an excellent base to work from. Headshot has two modes, Auto and Pro. Auto Mode Auto is well worth a try if you have an ideal photo of a front facing person that is properly lit and posed to Headshot's optimum requirements. It's also the only mode that will take a crack at generating a hair model. Moho 14 Released - Still the Best 2D Animation Software for Indy Animators on a Budget

Moho 14 Released. Regular readers know I am a Reallusion, Cartoon Animator advocate through and through. Hands down I would recommend Cartoon Animator 5 first over Lost Marble's Moho 14 to anyone who is just starting in 2D animation, is a team of one, or just needs to animate as quickly as possible. Inochi2D - Free Open Source 2D VTuber Avatar Rigging and Puppeteering Software (Part 1)

If you've been looking for a way to live perform as a 2D cartoon avatar on camera, whether it be for a live stream or for pre-recorded content like educational videos, then VTuber software is a low cost (or even no cost) option worth looking into.
